Staffing Adjustments
The timing of the staffing adjustments/transfers associated with student enrollment numbers has been revised and will begin immediately. In prior years, the district, in accordance with the Negotiated Agreement, implemented such transfers throughout September.
PGCEA has approved a Board of Education (Board) proposal to begin any required transfers immediately. As a result of programs such as Charter Schools, Choice and redistricting plans, the Board is able to identify now where adjustments should be made. PGCEA believes that by doing so now there will be fewer disruptions to teachers and students, and will reduce the number of classrooms that would have to be covered by substitutes.
PGCEA has also advised the Board that it will be tracking the transfers to make sure the Negotiated Agreement is followed.
