Regarding Our Foreign National Teachers:

PGCEA is acutely aware of the situation our foreign National teachers are now facing in light of the new Administrative Procedure "Employment of Foreign Nationals", implemented by the Board. Our office has been flooded with calls and communications conveying dismay, frustration and wondering how and why this is happening.

Our office has contacted the district's HR Office and filed several request for information to assist PGCEA in gaining clarity around this issue. PGCEA has also scheduled a meeting next week with representatives of HR to further fact find on this matter. Moreover, we have been in contact with our legal counsel internally via MSEA and have sought the counsel of an external immigration law firm to advise us on this matter as we move forward.

PGCEA is planning to host a meeting with our affected members and said legal counsel once the Association has completed its fact finding in this matter. Notice of meeting will be sent to our Unit members accordingly as we have valid contact. Please watch our website for exact date, time and location.
