4.15 E 1 a Any discipline of an employee by a supervisor shall be conducted in private. For some time, PGCEA had been concerned about a growing problem in our schools, and that was the public criticism of employees. Often times, such criticism was done, not only in front of adults, but also in front of children.

PGCEA argued that such criticism destroys morale and severely compromises the teachers' influence with their students. The board agreed and Article 4.15 E 1 a was added to the contract.
